And cried out in grief - Ya Hussain!

Salaam on you oh Hussain the Commander of the Faithful
The agony you went through shook all those in the heavens
And made them cry out your name - Ya Hussain!
Blessings of Allah be on you and those slain on that fateful day

Oh small child Ruqayya, what must she have felt as those hypocrites
Killed her two pure brothers: Ali Akbar and baby Asghar
As he lay cradled by - Ya Hussain!
They cut her Father\\\'s sacred throat and displayed it on their spears

As he made his way back to the camp from the Euphrates
They cut and severed his hands, that the water fell to the ground
And they watched him shout - Ya Hussain!
Shabbir\\\'s pain at that point was beyond all expression

Asking his uncle\\\'s permission to fight on Ashura
Executing his father\\\'s wish expressed, in his letter
Death sweeter than honey - Ya Hussain!
Such courage shown by one so young, fighting with the spirit of Hassan

Salaam on you al-Mahdi, hidden son of Fatima
We wait for you to restore the religion of Allah
And you will surely avenge - Ya Hussain!
