Show More >>Video footage has surfaced online showing radical Salafist Sheikh Ahmad al-Aseer beating up a Lebanese abductee with his rifle.
The hardline cleric, whose extremist group of Salafists had recently kidnapped Mohammad Abu Zahr in the Abra region of the city of Sidon in southern Lebanon, is shown with some of his companions hitting the man.
Aseer had previously denied having attacked Abu Zahr.
The radical Sheikh is on the run from the Lebanese military after his armed group launched a deadly attack on an army post last month, leading to the death of 20 soldiers and injuring a number of others in the ensuing confrontations.
