Between 250 and 300 people were in the mosque and the wounded were taken to a local hospital in Jamrud and another hospital in Peshawar. Police, paramilitary forces and government officials were among the congregation at the mosque, some 30 km (20 miles) from the Afghan border. The incident was the deadliest in Pakistan since last September, when 60 people died in a suicide truck bomb attack at the five-star Marriott Hotel in Islamabad. The Friday attack came hours before US President Barack Obama was to announce new plans for combating Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Obama is expected to send 4,000 extra troops to Afghanistan in addition to the 17,000 troops already deployed to the war-torn country. ***May Imam of our time reappear soon***
