Reports coming out of Syria suggest that insurgents battling government troops have seized a town in the southern Daraa province. Militants took control of Tafas following weeks of heavy clashes with army forces. The fighting has left dozens dead on both sides. The town of Tafas links the eastern and western parts of Daraa along the Jordanian border. In another battlefield in the central province of Homs, insurgents and government troops are fighting for control of a highly-strategic arsenal in Mahin.
