Washington calls Beijing\'s declaration of an air defense zone over the East China Sea provocative. White House spokesman Jay Carney says the United States does not recognize the plan and will NOT comply with it. He says the US will continue to conduct its military operations in the region like before. Carney also says China\'s behavior is not consistent with its role as a major power and called on Beijing to scrap the air defense zone.
