Shaheed Askari Raza was the President of Shia Lawyer's Forum and an active Shiite who worked day and night for the welfare of community. He was shot martyred in Gulshan e Iqbal, Karachi at 31 December 2011.
After the refusal of FIR registration, Shia Clerics, friends, family members, colleagues and attendant azadars decided to go for a Sit In at 01-01-2012, until the demand is accepted.
This report includes highlights of the entire Sit In (the peaceful demonstration that was eventually successful).
Blessings of Martyr's blood were evident from the nation's unity.
Ahley Sunnat Brothers also played their part in the procession. A Sunni brother took Askari Raza to Patel Hospital after he was shot.
Additionally, Sunni Brothers opened their mosque for the protestors to drink water and use its toilet facility.
