I really appreciate his perspective coming from the West as a convert. There is a lot we can learn from him, although there are somethings in which I disagree with him. But in this case I don't think he meant to equate Imam Ali (as) to the Prophet (saw) but said it this way as a mistake. After all he is a newcomer to Islam & it takes time to learn.
Did I hear him right at 7:15 that Ali(as) is a messenger in the same tradition as the Prophet(saw? The media is hyping this guy up too much and he's making some irresponsible statements.
